In addition, the review article focuses on constraining and propelling forces, ontological advances, contributions from key journals, and emerging themes and issues. It also presents a roadmap for research activity in event tourism.
He is the most pre-eminent academic in the field of event studies and has written many of the leading books in the field. His current research is exploring the nexus between food and events. His current research cross cuts the tourism, leisure and events field and he is involved in several research projects associated with creating dementia friendly communities. He is also co-editor of the Routledge Handbook of Events.
